Abstract

Senior design project for students from Wright State University evaluated alternate data entry devices to determine which yielded the fewest errors. Ramp keys, slider bars, and manual data entry (keyboard) were tested. Experimental design was flawed in that it should have provided for both qualitative and quantitative targets, but only quantitative was used.

Objective

The objective of the study was to conduct an experiment to determine if significant differences existed in data entry device or method in accuracy and speed of response.

Driving questions

Can data entry errors be minimized through use of a particular device or data entry method?

Deliverables

A report and presentation documenting the experiment and findings.
