Implementing new technology but worried that your operators may not adapt? This working subgroup created a guide to help tailor your approach to helping operators understand the whys and hows of technology implementation.
Traditional training focuses on a “one size fits all” approach to technology adaptation, this is a major barrier to the value that could be captured through implementing new technology. A working subgroup of COP members participated in a series of collaborative meetings and knowledge sharing during which the discussion focused on understanding how different operator personas impact the adoption of APC as a key tool to achieve operational success. During phase 1 the team delivered an APC Technology Adoption Guide. Phase 2 of the project was planned to produce a practical guide to Technology Adoption within Manufacturing Environments (TAME) however the Project Champion left the COP member company and the project was halted.
There are many challenges with adopting new technology within manufacturing environments. This working subgroup will focus on identifying and documenting the challenges faced when implementing a new APC. During the conversations the team will outline and document key challenges and opportunities with the goal of developing tools that can be used to implement new technology.
